Frisia Occidentalis; Early map that includes the provinces of Friesland and Groningen. The map was prepared by Sibrandus Leonis (Leo Sybrands) from Leeuwarden in 1579. With a large inset a map with decorated borders of the Netherlands as they were during the days of the Roman Emperor Augustus. Verso: Spanish.

This copperplate engraving / etching on a verge type of hand-laid paper with hand colour map, original fold, was published in Antwerp in 1579 by Abraham Ortelius
