Product Description

AMSTELODAMI CELEBERRIMI HOLLANDIA EMPORII DELINEATIO .

A very rare and magnificent late 17th century plan of Amsterdam in original colour by the Italian cartographer and publisher Gregorio Leti (1630-1710) that was published in an atlas of town plans in 1689. The plan is beautifully engraved in great detail and with the large number of ships in the port emphasizes just how important Amsterdam was as an international centre for trade. The whereabouts of important buildings and areas is given in three number-coded keys along the left and right-hand margins and along the bottom margin.

Very good condition apart from some slight age-toning of the paper along the edges, measures 425 x 540 mm.
